Criminal Enforcement Team

CET-

The Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team (CET) works to confront illegal activity in Worcester County through controlled dangerous substance and firearm-related investigations. Investigators are from the Worcester Sheriff’s Office, the Ocean City Police Department, the Maryland Department of State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The unit responds to citizen complaints of drug activity, drug overdoses, and intercepts illegal contraband on state and county roadways. A trained narcotic detection K-9 supplements the unit. The CET also has an Overdose Awareness Coordinator who helps the agency develop strategies to combat controlled dangerous substances through education and prevention in our communities. Members are assigned as Task Force Officers with several federal agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The CET is recognized and supported by the Washington-Baltimore High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) through collaboration, intelligence sharing, and resources. Each year, CET is recognized for its dedication to removing dangerous narcotics and guns from our streets.
